FROM THE CO-EDITORS-IN-CHIEF

Welcome to the final issue of Volume 28 of the International Journal of Arts Management. We are excited to bring you another issue of cutting-edge research in arts and cultural management.

In this issue’s Editors’ Choice articles, Fei Gao, François Colbert, and Danilo C. Dantas develop a model of the service appropriation process in a setting that combines physical and digital consumer experiences, and Heiko Reusch, Udo Bomnüter, and Annalena Ellersdorfer examine how the use of Spotify affects the expansion of musical taste, particularly through users’ awareness of the algorithm and perception of the value of the recommender system.

Two additional articles in this issue consider the consumer’s experience while consuming artistic and cultural products. Michela Addis, Giulia Miniero, Francesco Ricotta, and Morris B. Holbrook investigate the role of narrative transportation and fantastical thinking in consumer responses to motion-picture trailers, and Aranzazu Gaztelumendi and Richard Huaman-Ramirez investigate how perceptions of artistic product innovativeness influence consumers’ experience of films viewed in movie theaters.

A second set of articles considers how consumer segments differ in their consumption of artistic and cultural experiences. Jorge Lopes, Ana Pinto Borges, Elvira Vieira, and Marco Bagheri present a segmentation study to determine the factors that influence fan loyalty among Comic Con participants, and Hakjun Lee and Shik Heo explore the role that educational cultural capital and social cultural capital play in the diversity of cultural consumption decisions.

Broadening our focus beyond the traditional arts genres examined in arts management research, Alexandra Codruta Bîzoi and Cristian-Gabriel Bîzoi examine the governance tensions associated with mobilizing cultural and heritage artifacts as a branding strategy, and Ana Flávia Machado, Márcia Almada, and Cínthia Santos Silva apply a contingent valuation approach to predicting willingness to contribute financially to a public archive.

Finally, in this issue’s Case Study, Francesco Santoleri, Matteo Saggese, Michela Addis, Roberta Capozucca, Caterina Conigliani, and Alessandro Lorica explore the adoption of a new digital platform for asset management in the theater industry.

We are excited to be hosting the fourth annual IJAM Paper Development Workshop prior to the 18th International Conference on Arts and Cultural Management in Rio, Brazil. This year’s workshop theme is “Artificial Intelligence in Arts Management Research.” We look forward to seeing some of you there and hope to connect with more of you at the main AIMAC conference.

Finally, a reminder to submit all manuscripts here: https://revue.hec.ca/index.php/ijam/login and to add 'noreply@revue.hec.ca' to your email contacts to receive notifications and confirmation emails from the system.

Have a great summer!
